It was a pleasure for the doctors of Paaranu Women’s Superspecialities to take a series of health awareness lectures at the Surati Modh Vanik Samast Panch Mahila Mandal. Community education has always been close to our hearts, because we believe that good health begins with good information, shared in a warm and accessible way. Meeting the members of the Mahila Mandal and speaking with them directly was a genuinely rewarding experience.

The session was designed to cover the areas of women’s health that matter most to families. I had the opportunity to speak on fetal medicine, the specialty devoted to the health and wellbeing of the baby before birth. I explained, in simple terms, how modern scanning and monitoring allow us to watch over a developing baby, detect concerns early, and reassure expectant mothers through what can be an anxious time. My aim was to demystify the subject, so that families understand what these tests are for and why timely antenatal care is so valuable.

My colleague Dr. Dhaval Dharani spoke on infertility treatment and IVF. This is a subject surrounded by many myths and a great deal of unnecessary stigma. He addressed common questions with honesty and compassion, helping the audience understand that infertility is a medical condition like any other, that help is available, and that many couples go on to build the families they hope for with the right support and treatment.

Dr. Gautam Unagar then spoke on endoscopy and cancer treatment, explaining how minimally invasive techniques have transformed gynaecological surgery, and how early detection makes an enormous difference in the outcome of gynaecological cancers. His message on the importance of regular check ups and not ignoring warning signs was one that clearly resonated with the audience.

What made the event special was the openness of the women who attended. Health topics, especially those relating to fertility and women’s bodies, are not always easy to discuss in a group setting. Yet the questions were thoughtful, honest and engaged, and the conversation that followed each talk was as valuable as the talks themselves. When people feel free to ask, they leave with real understanding rather than half remembered fears.

At Paaranu, we see this kind of community outreach as an essential part of our work. A clinic can only help the patients who walk through its doors, but a well informed community looks after its own health far better, seeks care earlier, and supports its women more fully. Awareness saves lives, and it does so quietly, long before anyone reaches a hospital.
