It was a deeply humbling honour to receive the Gujarat Gynec Excellence Award at the West Zone YUVA FOGSI 2020 conference, held at Narayani Heights, Gandhinagar, near Ahmedabad. The award was presented at the hands of FOGSI President Dr. Nandita Palshetkar and past FOGSI President Dr. Rishikesh Pai, two names that command enormous respect across the obstetrics and gynaecology community in our country. To be recognised in their presence, and among so many accomplished colleagues, is a moment I will always cherish.
An award like this is never the achievement of one person alone. It reflects the trust of patients who place their families in our care, the dedication of the entire team at Paaranu Women’s Superspecialities, and the guidance of mentors and peers who have shaped our practice over the years. When I stood on that stage, I was very aware that I was accepting this recognition on behalf of everyone who works quietly and tirelessly to make good care possible, day after day.
FOGSI, the Federation of Obstetric and Gynaecological Societies of India, is the professional home for gynaecologists across the nation, and its YUVA wing is dedicated to nurturing the energy and ideas of its younger members. A platform like West Zone YUVA FOGSI brings together clinicians from across the region to learn, to share and to celebrate excellence in our field. Being counted among those honoured there is both a privilege and a responsibility, a reminder to keep raising the standard of the care we provide.
For us at Paaranu, recognition of this kind is meaningful precisely because it is rooted in our everyday work. We are a women’s superspeciality centre, and our focus has always been on combining clinical excellence with genuine compassion. Every successful pregnancy, every family we are able to help, and every patient who leaves our care with hope is the real reward. An award simply affirms that the values we hold are the right ones, and it encourages us to hold them even more firmly.
I would like to express my heartfelt gratitude to the Surat Obstetric and Gynaecological Society for their constant support, to FOGSI for the recognition, and to the organisers of YUVA FOGSI, Dr. Mahesh Gupta and his dedicated team, for putting together such a memorable conference. I also thank my colleagues, my staff and my family, whose support makes everything we do at Paaranu possible.
Above all, I feel blessed. Blessed to serve in a profession that touches lives at their most tender and important moments, blessed to work alongside such a talented community of doctors, and blessed to have the trust of the families who choose us. This award belongs to all of them as much as it does to me, and it inspires us to keep striving for excellence in the years ahead.
